Registration for participation in the Continental 2021 selection and the Belgian Class 3 Championship.(Updated 19 May)

From 25 to 27 June 2021, a selection weekend (3 days) will be organised in order to select the team of participants for the Continental 2021 in the Netherlands, which is scheduled from 11 to 15 August. The registration must be entered and paid before 28 May 2021 on the account of the FSB IBAN: BE86 734-0187057-50 (BIC: KREDBEBB).

Amount = 75 Euro for members and 95 Euro for non-members of FSB for each participating dog.

The registration fee includes the participation in the days 1 and 2 of the qualification weekend at the end of June. It also includes the participation in the final on the third day for the selected handlers.

A maximum of 2 dogs per handler is allowed.

Important

The rules for class 2 dogs were discussed at the 2021 General Assembly.

The FSB allows a one-time promotion of class 2 dogs to class 3 at the initiative of the handlers in order to participate in the qualifying weekend this year.

Class 2 dogs who, according to their handler, have the ability to compete in Class 3 but have not had the opportunity to be promoted to that class under the 3 x 70 point rule due to Covid19 restrictions, may exceptionally enter their dog in Class 3 for the qualifying weekend.

However, once registered, they will no longer be able to participate in class 2 competitions at a later date and will therefore remain permanently registered in class 3.

The Field

Located in Balen, Antverpialaan. Is a triangular shape , 487 m long and 250 m large at the largest side.

The field is a horse meadow and therefore perfectly mowed.

Parking is possible in the vicinity (but not allowed on the meadow). There are no camping facilities in the immediate vicinity of the field.

Covid19 limits the catering to a strict minimum. No meals or drinks are available.

The presence of spectators on the field will be restricted by the Covid19 measures in force at the time.

The sheep

Excellent sheep will be provided to run the first 2 runs in the best conditions followed by the final with a double outrun.

The Jury

Stephan Lamm (Ge) and Guillaume Josien (Fr) will be the international judges during the Balen selection trial.

Continental 2021 Info

On 29 April 2021, a meeting of the CCSC took place to discuss the organisation of the 2021 edition of the Continental in the Netherlands. All this info is subject to any evolution of health regulations.

Summary:

There will be a competition on these dates (11 to 15/8/21) at address : Koningspade 31 A, 1718 MP Hoogwoude, The Netherlands. This is the location (site 2) where the last World competition took place. The competition will be visible on streaming, filmed with 2 cameras on different locations.

The local regional association has proposed a system (paying) to record the 600 people allowed on the field at the same time.

It is a system of 30 ' bubbles ' of type ' pagoda ' tents of up to 20 people, with tables and 12 chairs. Places in the tents can be reserved per day or for the 4 days. Only the jury (John McCulloch Ireland and Aled Owen Wales) and the participants of the day only (max 20) have access to a tent near the starting point.

There will be an area for competitors and for the public on both sides of the site.

COVID protocols will be very strictly monitored throughout and those who do not adhere to the rules will be excluded from the competition.

There will be no gala dinner and little on-site catering, opening at 12pm and closing at 6pm.

There will be no camping. Hotels, B&B other campsites etc will be within a 20 km radius with their own COVID rules.

All this is of course conditional on the COVID restrictions; which are in force today and may be changed by August. Today they are:

A negative PCR test of less than 72 hours.
10 days quarantine at own expense once there; if negative PCR test on day 5 after arrival, quarantine lifted.

Before returning to Belgium, a passenger location form should be filled in, on the basis of which it will be indicated whether you have to go into quarantine or not.

The organisers in NL hope to obtain the status of 'top sportsman' for the participating handlers and their partner, which would ease the concept of quarantine. However, this possibility has not yet been confirmed.

The Committee will have meetings every month to take stock, a site will be put online as usual for all info by the organisers. The address of the site for CSC2021 is not yet complete:

A call for young handlers for the Continental 2021 competition

There will be a competition for young handlers during the continental trial in the Netherlands from 11 to 15 Aug. A young handler is defined as being an handler not older than 21 years on 11 Aug 2021 living in Belgium since more then 12 months.

Two positions are allowed for participation by country. An additional position can be requested.

We have actualy one subscription for young handler an invite additional candidates to register throug the contact form of the site with mention "candidate for young handler competition, name, name dog, birth date".

We will organise a selection between the candidates from 25-27 June in Balen, In case we get more candidates then the allowed positions for Belgium young handlers on the competition.
