Results registration in case of a split of a pre qualification trial in Gp A and Gp B
The following was presented to the Board.
Problem:
Gp A runs on competition 1 on Saturday and Gp B runs the same competition 1 on Sunday (same terrain, same type of sheep, same jury, different calendar day).
Option A:
Is the scoring done per day so that we end up with 2 winners of competition 1 and the calculation to 100 points is done separately for day 1 and day 2?
or
Option B:
is the ranking for the 2 days held in the points calculation (group A and group B are combined and cast into one ranking for the competition)? In this case there is in principle only one winner with 100 points and the results of competion 1 are adjusted with the same coefficient.
Decision
The FSB board has decided to go ahead with option B since it is the most fair and avoids that one group is more "boosted" by the normalisation to 100 points than the other group. It is also more in the spirit of the same game being minimally adjusted by spreading it over 2 days. It is also a little awkward that you would have two winners for the same competition without necessarily an ex-aequo of the points.
Message from the co-chairman of the FSB (Nathalie de Spa)
Please find a message that the co-chairman of the FSB wants to share:
I would like to emphasise that meeting each other at competitions and sharing our passion should be a moment of pleasure above all.
First of all, I am fully aware that there have been tensions in the past and perhaps even today. It would be positive if each of us could make a contribution to the building of a better future together.
A simple hello to each other would already be a first step towards a better future.
I can understand that there is a spirit of competition, but within a framework of fair play of course.
In a second step, it would be nice if this kind of respect and mutual aid could also be extended to the organisers, whoever they are.
It is not always easy to organise a competition because of the limited possibilities in Belgium. Nevertheless I think that every organiser (and there are not many) does his best to put together something worthwhile and appreciable for all handlers.
Of course I am always open to constructive remarks. The ultimate goal of our federation remains to improve and ensure the development of all in our sport.
Thank you for your attention and understanding.
