News about selection World 2023
Herewith you will find information about the selection of the participants for the World 2023 that takes place in (Southern) Ireland.
The address of the competition is
Curraghmore estate, Curraghmore, Portlaw, Co. Waterford, X91 X598, Ireland.
The selection route for the Belgian team at the World 2023 starts with the Floreffe competition on 11-12 June 2022 and ends with the BLC competition on 12-13 Nov 2022.
The list of selection trials for the World 2023 is as follows:
Trial | Date | Calendar Days | competition days |
Floreffe | 11-12/06/2022 | 2 | 2 |
Bovy | 10-11/09/2022 | 2 | 2 |
Dendertrial | 24-25/09/2022 | 2 | 2 |
Herfst Trial | 29-30/10/2022 | 2 | 2 |
BLC Trial | 12-13/11/2022 | 2 | 1 |
The BLC trial of 12-13 Nov will be held with the system of group A and B due to the limited daylight in that period.
So there will be 9 competition days of which the 7 best results will be merged.
In case of force majeure the difference of 2 competition days will be used for the calculation of the total number of points. In this example it is reduced to 8 match days of which the 6 best results are combined.
Possible changes to the course of the selection due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure will be handled by the board in consultation with the 3 representatives of the handlers.
In order to facilitate the organisation, you will be asked to register in advance as a competitor for the selection of the World team. This pre-registration is free of charge. Later you will confirm your participation in the individual competition days through the usual registration process of the FSB.
Link for preregistration is Pre-registration.
At the end of the mentioned trial days a final score will be available from which the participants to the World 2023 will be selected.
The Field
Information on the selected fields will be provided at the opening of the individual match registrations.
Again, the FSB will appeal to members to contribute as helpers to the execution of the competitions. For the competition in Floreffe, a letter will soon follow with the mentioning of the vacancies for helpers. Thanks in advance.
The sheep
A group of 5 sheep per run is put at the disposal of the participants, see Art 4 and Art 10 of the 2023 competition rules.
Jury
The jury at the selection competitions for the World 2023 are foreigners.

"The ISDS official statement regarding COVID-19
The health and well-being of our members, competitors, sponsors, volunteers and staff is of paramount importance. Advice from the Government and health officials regarding COVID-19 is changing daily with stronger restrictions being implemented and enforced. Considering this, we have concluded that all National, International and World trials will not take place this year. We understand and appreciate the level of disappointment that this will create, however we need to act responsibly during these times of uncertainty.
Local Trials
Based on advice issued by the UK Government on March 16th, specifically regarding restrictions on non-essential travel and contact, we strongly recommend that all local trials are cancelled.
We are receiving cancellation notifications daily and will be updating the trials calendar accordingly.
Points awarded at any local open trials will not be accepted by the ISDS as of today, 18th March; and this will continue until further notice.
Any affiliated local society that has purchased the ISDS Insurance must contact the office to raise a credit, as this insurance will be null and void as of today, 18th March 2020.
Major Trials - National, International & World
World trial entry has closed, please do not complete any further applications for World Trial entry, and those of you that have already entered will be contacted shortly.
We have made the decision that all major ISDS trials will not take place in 2020. The ISDS will now focus on managing the consequences of this, and when this is completed, start to undertake preparations for planning the 2021 major trial calendar. Once a 2021 calendar plan has been formed, a further statement will be released with necessary details.
We appreciate your support during this period of uncertainty."

World 2020 Info
Dear Handlers,
The FSB/FBCT succeeded to demonstrate by the internal working of the selections during the years 2017-2018-2019 and more specifically after the excellent season 2019 inspired by the British system (Pre-Qualification and Final in Geel), and thanks to the trials announced for the selection of the Worl 2020, to be a very loyal partner for the ISDS.
It was not obvious to keep the same number of seats for Belgium. The fact that more and more countries want to participate to the World Championship and the pressure of the strongest countries to get additional seats were treathening the 8 Belgian selection places.
The trial of Kagge on 9 and 10 Novembrer and the latest trial foreseen on 28-29 December will finalise the selection of the Belgian team for the World 2020 in England.
Secretary,
Chris Caerts
