In memorial Jasper Vechter
We received the sad news of Jasper's death.
Jasper was one of those silent forces who so often lent a helping hand in so many trials over so many years.
Rarely in the picture but all the organizers, whether they worked within the framework of the Federation or outside it, knew you could count on him.
The job was always "done", without a show, without many words.
He was one of those people who made things run smoothly, one of those people without a big ego who was always ready for someone else, one of those people you really miss, because so often you thought "Oh, we'll call the Jasper".
To shear the sheep, to bring or fetch the sheep, to set up, so many other things. Someone with a practical mind and approach, reliable and solid.
"Judge me on my actions, not on my words" could have been perfectly his credo.
We're going to miss you. You were a great Mr. Jasper, although you may not have realised that yourself.
There will be a commemoration ceremony later this year. We'll let you know the right time.
